What happens after the break.

A pattern that's still forming is drawn ahead in dashes, so you see where its lines meet. When price closes through it, Auto patterns marks the break and plans the move.

  • OutcomeWhether target or stop traded first

FAQ

Auto chart patterns.

Is automatic pattern recognition free?

Yes. Auto patterns is part of the free account. On TradingView, auto chart patterns start with the Premium plan, $69.95/mo with monthly billing as listed 21 Oct 2026.

Which chart patterns does it find?

Rising and falling wedges; ascending, descending and symmetrical triangles; rising and falling channels and ranges; bull and bear flags and pennants; double tops and bottoms; head and shoulders and its inverse; and cup and handle.

Does it give a target and a stop?

Yes. Once a pattern breaks, it draws the measured-move target and a stop on the price scale, and says whether the break came on volume.

Do the patterns repaint?

No. A turning point only counts once it is confirmed, so a pattern appears a few bars late and is not redrawn afterwards.

Does it work on my phone?

Yes. Add Auto patterns from the Indicators list on desktop or phone. It runs on the Classic chart engine.
